コンセプト
いつでも側にいるよ
離れて暮らす祖父母に「私はいなくても、外へ出ればちょうちょやバッタがいるし、綺麗なお花が咲いている。元気を出して。」という気持ちで作りました。身につけた人に寄り添うような、ハートフルなジュエリー。
商品が生み出されるまで
技術力は一級品彼女自身のゆるーいキャラ。そして作品の中にいる温かみのあるキャラクターは、彼女の分身だと誰もが感じるでしょう。そのゆるーいキャラとは対照的に、彼女の技術は一級品です。薄い金属の板を叩いて膨らまし、ピタっとふたをして軽くて存在感のある形を作りだします。更に小さなノコギリで模様を切り出したり、薄い羽を付けたり、石を付けたりと多彩な技術を駆使しています。全ての作品には彼女の分身であろう虫のような妖精のような生き物がくっついています。ちょっとずつ違う表情の中から、お気に入りの一つを見つけ出してください。

赤城山の大自然のなかで草花や生き物、文学に囲まれて育つ。2012年東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科工芸専攻 彫金第一修了。物語のあるテーマや親しみやすい形を、日本の伝統彫金技法を用いてジュエリーやオブジェに表現しています。

Always beside you
My work was inspired by my care for my grandparents, who live far away. “Even though you don’t have me near, if you go outside you can see butterflies and grasshoppers and beautiful flowers blooming. Take heart!” This heartfelt jewelry will feel close to you.
Story of product
Technical skill is first class
Her easygoing character creates warmth everyone will feel emanate from the characters in her work. Despite Matsuda’s easygoing personality, her technical skill is first class. She creates light powerful shapes. The process begins by striking and inflating a thin metal, and putting the metal on a mold. In addition, she makes full use of various skills that include making a design with a tiny saw and adding light wings and stones. All her creations, like insects and fairies, are reflections of herself. Please find your favorite from each different expressive work.

Nationality : Japan
Eriko Matsuda grew up surrounded by flowers, creatures, the nature of Mt. Akagi, and literature. She received a Masters Degree of Fine Art, Department of Craft from Tokyo University of the Arts. She expresses a story theme and warmth shaped into jewelries and objects by using the Japanese traditional metal carving technique.
